In an interview with Swedish paper SvD, David Fincher revealed that Joely Richardson, Steven Berkoff and David Dencik have been added to the cast of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

They will star alongside Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgard and Christopher Plummer in the adaptation of adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s blockbuster crime novel.

It’s been suggested that Richardson will play the part of Cecilia Vanger, but there’s been no news on who Berkoff and Dencik will portray. Expect more details to be released as filming gets underway.

Fincher also spoke a little about the direction of the film, saying:

I’m looking to try to catch Sweden. I hope I can find an atmosphere reminiscent of Chinatown.

Sony will release The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on December 21, 2011.
