Baltasar Kormákur’s Everest has been playing very well on the festival circuit, gathering Oscar buzz in its wake. Our review of the film is here, and we loved it.

The film is an account of Rob Hall and Scott Fischer’s 1996 attempt to scale the tallest mountain in the world, and the terrible conditions which dogged the journey. Jason Clarke plays Hall opposite Jake Gyllenhaal’s Scott Fischer, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Josh Brolin also feature in the supporting cast.

Our friends James Kleinmann sat down with Clarke to talk about his work on the film, researching the role, and how they endeavoured to put the audience in the extremities at the top of the world.

Spoilers for real life are discussed. Climb with caution.
