Deadline has recently reported some great news straight from the Toronto International Film Festival.
What is it you ask? William H. Macy is going to be playing a very wealthy alcoholic in the upcoming Charlie Matthau adaptation of Freaky Deaky.
Freaky Deaky was written by Elmore Leonard and is about a group of 60’s radicals who enjoy blowing stuff up in order to make some cash. They’re explosive entrepreneurs if you will. Macy stars as Woody Ricks, an alcoholic who loves showgirls, show tunes, and “a knack for not getting blown up.”
Myriad Pictures has been left in charge of selling foreign rights to the movie while Tom Ortenberg is responsible for the US distribution rights. Tom will be executive producing through his company, One Way Out Media.
I like the concept of the story and I think Macy will be a great addition to what I hope will be a comical action/drama.
