This week we had the privilege of heading off to Los Angeles, to chat with some of the stars of Michael Bay’s fifth movie in the Transformers franchise. Transformers: The Last Knight is the title and its set to hit UK cinemas June 23rd. The movie sees Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel return as Cade Yeager and Lt. Colonel William Lennox respectively but it was three franchise newcomers that we spoke to in the form of Nickelodeon star Isabela Moner, comedian Jerrod Carmichael and British all-round talent Laura Haddock.

Isabela Moner and Michael Bay with Sqweeks

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll hear from each of them on why they took on the roles, what it’s like working with Director Michael Bay and working specifically one on of his giant movies like Transformers. We’ll start today with relative newcomer Isabela Moner. She plays Izabella in the movie which (if you’ve seen the second trailer) is one of the driving forces of the film. She told us how Michael Bay surprised everyone when he decided to direct it last minute and how she felt when she first saw it.

She also talks about filming in London and I made sure that she knew exactly how to go about eating scones – jam or cream first and meeting the wonderful Sir Anthony Hopkins and how she got a giant bear-hug. Isabela can be seen in the new Transformers movie but get ready to see a lot more of her as she appears in Stefano Sollima’s sequel to Sicario – Solado.

Isabela Moner Exclusive Interview

Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for more interviews with the cast of Transformers: The Last Knight.
