Searchlight Pictures UK has unveiled the brand-new trailer for ‘IS THIS THING ON?.’ The critically acclaimed comedy-drama, directed by Bradley Cooper, drops its latest footage —offering an intimate, emotionally charged glimpse into a story of love, loss, reinvention, and the courage it takes to start again.

The film stars Will Arnett and Laura Dern in what are already being hailed as career-defining performances, supported by an impressive ensemble including Andra Day, Bradley Cooper, Amy Sedaris, Sean Hayes, Christine Ebersole, Ciarán Hinds and Scott Icenogle.

At the centre of the story is Alex (Arnett), a man confronting the slow unravelling of his marriage and the sobering realities of middle age. With divorce looming, he finds himself drawn to the raw, unpredictable energy of New York’s comedy scene—discovering a new sense of purpose onstage as his personal life fractures off it.

Meanwhile, Tess (Dern) grapples with her own moment of reckoning. After years spent prioritising family, she faces the emotional cost of the sacrifices she made, and the complicated process of rediscovering who she is beyond the roles she’s spent a lifetime fulfilling. Together, Alex and Tess are forced to navigate the messy terrain of co-parenting, identity, and the painful yet hopeful question of whether love can evolve into something new.
