Iron-Man-3-IMAX-PosterThe countdown to Shane Black’s immensely anticipated Iron Man 3 is set at just one more day here in the UK, and the excitement is naturally on high.

The early reviews have been almost universally positive – you can read our review here – and everything we’ve seen from the film so far suggests that we’ve got an epic action blockbuster to kick off Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With the film on the cusp of its release on our shores, IGN have debuted a new featurette for the film, in which Shane Black and Robert Downey, Jr. go into a little detail on some of the technology featured in the upcoming sequel.

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Robert Downey, Jr. reprises his role once more as Tony Stark / Iron Man. And starring alongside him is a brilliant cast, led by Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, Wang Xueqi, and Fan Bingbing, with Paul Bettany reprising his role as the voice of JARVIS.

Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) is directing from a script he co-wrote with Drew Pearce.

Iron Man 3 will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D tomorrow, 25th April, here in the UK, with its US release date following next week on May 3rd. In the meantime, here’s the latest featurette to get you excited. This is going to be epic.
