Following on from their phenomenal collaboration in The Raid, director Gareth Evans and lead star Iko Uwais team up once again, for the eagerly anticipated sequel. We had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with the immensely talented duo to discuss their latest project.
The Raid 2 expands outside of the forbidding tower block which was a fixed setting for the first picture, this time taking place on the streets on Indonesia. With Evans translating Uwais’, they discuss their thoughts on cinematically enlarging the story, and why it’s important to be so different to the first. They also talk about the potential in a third, and most likely final, trip back into this world…
The Raid 2 is released on April 11th.
