Following on from a film as remarkable as Animal Kingdom is no easy task – but Australian director David Michôd returns with a stellar cast for his second feature film The Rover – and we had the pleasure of sitting down with the talented filmmaker to discuss his latest project.

Michôd talks about the pressure that came with his sophomore endeavour, and why he decided to cast Robert Pattinson – in a role thats somewhat different (and darker) to that we’ve seen him in before. Michôd also tells us that he wrote the role of Eric for Pearce – but didn’t tell him that – and he also admits he would like to one day tackle comedy, and try something a little lighter.

The Rover is released in cinemas on August 15th. You can read our review of the film here.
