Deadfall sees award-winning director Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters) return behind the camera, with a brilliant cast led by Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, and Charlie Hunnam.
Already available through VoD in the States, the film is entering theatres in the US this Friday, and Yahoo Movies have debuted a rather awesome and intense new clip ahead of its release, giving us a great look at the dynamics between the leading trio.
“Siblings Addison (Eric Bana) and Liza (Olivia Wilde) are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances – a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). It’s there the siblings are reunited in a terse and thrilling showdown that pushes the bonds of family to the limit.”
Kris Kristofferson, Sissy Spacek, and Kate Mara complete the cast nicely, with Ruzowitzky directing from a script penned by Zach Dean, who makes his feature debut here.
Deadfall will be given a limited release in the US this Friday, 7th December. Still no word yet on when we can look forward to it here in the UK, but I’m hoping that it will arrive on our shores sometime next year, because this is definitely a film I’d like to see.
