The latest salvo in the YA film adaptation battle has been fired with the launch of a new trailer for the second part of Veronica Roth’s Divergent series: Insurgent.

Shailene Woodley is undoubtedly the breakout star of the first film. Her role in The Descendants notwithstanding Woodley made her name as Tris in Divergent, bringing wit and will to an archetype riddled with potential missteps.

Like The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner Summit have built a fine and diverse cast around the two leads, with Maggie Q, Zoe Kravitz, Ashley Judd and Miles Teller making an impression in the first.

Octavia Spencer and Naomi Watts are just two of the newcomers for the second film. Incoming director Robert Schwentke has much to live up to, with Red, the misfire R.I.P.D and The Time Traveler’s Wife being highligts of a nicely varied filmography.
