IMAX have just sent through information of a brand new IMAX screen to be installed at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent. This is the first time a Showcase cinema will house an IMAX screen so top work for them and it’s fab news for anyone using the out-of-town shopping centre.

IMAX AND SHOWCASE CINEMAS TO BRING THE IMAX EXPERIENCE® TO THE BLUEWATER SHOPPING CENTRE IN KENT
LONDON – Oct. 30, 2013 – IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Showcase Cinemas today announced an agreement for an IMAX cinema to be installed at the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent.
The deal is a first for Showcase and signals a commitment to enhance the customer experience at this iconic out-of-town shopping complex. Part of National Amusements, Inc., Showcase operates cinemas at 20 UK locations, including three Cinema de Lux venues. National Amusements, Inc. operates more than 850 screens globally and has been an IMAX partner since 2001, with a total of five IMAX cinemas in the US, Brazil and Argentina.
“We have been operating IMAX cinemas for many years and have seen first-hand how IMAX drives incremental revenue for an entire cinema complex,” said Shari Redstone, President of National Amusements. “When it comes to presenting epic entertainment, the IMAX format is world-class and we are delighted to bring this unique cinematic experience to our patrons in the UK.”
