Netflix has poured the first trailer for ‘House of Guinness,’ an epic family saga from ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight. The sweeping new drama brings to life the story of one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties — the Guinness family. All eight episodes are set to premiere globally on September 25.
Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the series begins in the immediate aftermath of the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man whose vision turned the Guinness brewery into a global phenomenon. His passing sets in motion a chain of events that will forever alter the fate of his four children — Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben — and those whose lives are entwined with the Guinness legacy.
The ensemble cast is led by Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air, Manhunt) as Arthur Guinness, Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes) as Edward Guinness, Emily Fairn (The Responder) as Anne Plunket (née Guinness), and Fionn O’Shea (Normal People) as Benjamin Guinness.
Joining them are James Norton (Happy Valley) as Sean Rafferty, Dervla Kirwan (True Detective: Night Country) as Aunt Agnes Guinness, Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones) as Byron Hedges, Niamh McCormack (Everything Now) as Ellen Cochrane, Danielle Galligan (Shadow and Bone) as Lady Olivia Hedges, and Ann Skelly (The Nevers) as Adelaide Guinness.
The cast also features Seamus O’Hara (Blue Lights) as Patrick Cochrane, Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) as John Potter, David Wilmot (Station Eleven) as Bonnie Champion, Michael Colgan (The Regime) as Rev. Henry Gratton, Jessica Reynolds (Kneecap) as Lady Christine O’Madden, Hilda Fay (The Woman in the Wall) as Sultan, and Elizabeth Daulau (Andor) as Lady Henrietta St. Lawrence.
Created and executive produced by Steven Knight, the series also counts Karen Wilson, Elinor Day, Martin Haines, Tom Shankland, and Ivana Lowell among its executive producers. Cahal Bannon serves as series producer with Howard Burch as producer. Shankland directs four episodes, while Mounia Akl helms two.
