Recently seen leading the acclaimed BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall Mark Rylance steps into very different shoes for his role in Pierre Morel’s latest action movie, The Gunman.

Rylance plays Cox, the leader of a group of mercenaries from whose clutches Sean Penn’s long time operative (nicknamed Twink…) wants to escape. The actor’s film choices are nicely eclectic, shadowing one of the finest stage careers of all time, with this action movie being followed up by his work with Steven Spielberg on Roald Dahl’s The BFG.
