Just when we thought Henry Cavill had hung up that red cape, news has come through that he has entered into talks to squeeze back into the lycra suit as ‘Superman’ for an upcoming DC movie.

At this stage, no other details are forthcoming. It would likely come as part of another character’s story such as ‘Black Adam’ or even in a ‘Shazam’ sequel.

Back in 2018, we spoke to Cavill about whether he would like to return as ‘Superman’ in a ‘Man of Steel’ sequel, stating he would jump at the chance to return and draw from his favourite comic books.

“I would love to make a Superman movie, I would love to draw from all of my favourite comic books and make an original story which is based on the essence of those characters and have that joyful, hopeful, powerful figure who Superman is. Not just like the chocolate box that is saving kittens and stuff, a little bit of that, absolutely, but also the badass version of Superman. A Superman who you see his raw power, not necessarily unleashed in a negative way, but you see it in the protection of other people.”
