After the internet went insane yesterday with the rumour that Henry Cavill would be exiting the role of Superman in the DCEU, the working actor posted a cryptic video on Instagram leaving his distraught fans none the wiser.

Wearing a Krypton Lifting Team T-Shirt, the chiselled actor proceeded to lift his own Superman doll into the shot and out again with his best poker face to the dog barking soundtrack of The Blue Danube. All the caption said, “Today was exciting”

Cavill’s agent, Danny Garcia also refuted the claims on his own twitter account stating “Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet. @wbpictures has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe.”

Reports that started the frenzy arose after it was said that contract negotiations between Cavill and Warner Bros. fell apart after the actor was in talks to shoot a cameo for the upcoming DCEU feature Shazam!, but was unable to make the scheduling work, leading the studio to shift focus to their developing Supergirl movie. The flames were fuelled further with the news that Cavill will be taking the lead in the new Netflix series, The Witcher.
