Due out at the end of the year, we’ve been given the first poster for He Who Dares to debut, bearing the slogan, ‘Fight. Kill. Win.’ Just the kind of sentiment you want from an action film.
On Christmas Eve a group of ruthless masked terrorists kidnap the Prime Minister’s daughter, fortifying themselves in an underground car park rigged with explosives. Crack SAS operative Chris Lowe and his team are sent in and must take the building one level at a time.
Tom Benedict Knight, Simon Phillips, Christina Bellavia, Ewan Ross, Ben Lloyd-Holmes, Zara Pythian, Kye Loren, and Lorraine Stanley star, with Knight taking the leading role as SAS operative, Chris Lowe.
Tanter is directing from a script penned by James Crow (GBH), and also produces alongside Anthony and Patrick Maxwell, both of whom make their feature debuts as producers.
It’s not often that we get to see British cinema venture into the action/thriller genre, and it’s always nice to see when directors from our shores are willing to take things outside of our regular comfort zone. Tanter has a wealth of experience behind the camera – just recently, we saw the first trailer for White Collar Hooligans 2: England Away – and I’m looking forward to seeing what he does here.
The premise definitely has a lot of potential, and it will be good to see what a British production can do with this kind of setup.
He Who Dares has officially wrapped production, and will be heading into theatres over Christmas 2013. Here’s to hoping that the first trailer will be following shortly. It sounds like this is one to look forward to.
Runaway Features are pleased to announce a picture wrap on SAS hostage thriller HE WHO DARES, described as a cross between The Raid and Die Hard.

Paul Tanter (The Rise & Fall of a White Collar Hooligan) directs a script from GBH writer James Crow. Patrick and Anthony Maxwell produce alongside Tanter. The film stars Tom Knight (Kick Ass 2), Simon Phillips (White Collar Hooligan), Ewan Ross (Age of Heroes) and Lorraine Stanley (London To Brighton). UK release is scheduled for Christmas 2013.
Paul Tanter comments, “I am very pleased to be bringing this gritty action thriller to the market. After his bad guy role in the highly anticipated Kick Ass 2, I can see Tom Knight shaping up as a star of the future and is the perfect lead as the heroic SAS Captain. Jude Poyer’s fight choreography background in Hong Kong martial arts film has brought awesome fight scenes to a very hard hitting British film.”
