Hans Zimmer recently said he is turning his back on scoring superhero films in the future. But the award-winning composer seems to have had a change of heart according to X-Men: Dark Phoenix actor Evan Peters.

In a recent interview with Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Peters, who plays Quicksilver in the X-Men saga, dropped the bomb that Zimmer would be scoring Dark Phoenix.

I think the film is gonna be incredible. Hans Zimmer’s scoring it – I don’t know if I was supposed to say that or not. Simon has surrounded himself with incredible people, and Simon knows this world better than anybody, so it was just cool to see him – he’s so happy and in his element in that world, and also being able to direct and guide everybody in this way. I was very happy for him and I think it’s gonna be great.

Whether this will be Zimmer’s last dance with the Superhero genre after successfully composing for films such as The Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel, is anyone’s guess.

Dark Pheonix is said to be set in 1992, nearly ten years after ‘Apocalypse’ as the X-Men have become national heroes. Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) starts sending his X-Men on increasingly dangerous missions until a space-bound rescue sees a solar flare strike the X-Jet, awakening a long-dormant power in Jean Grey.

Jessica Chastain joins the X-Men cast along with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Tye Sheridan, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Olivia Munn also returning.

The film is slated for a November 2nd 2018 release
