Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is right around the corner and thanks to Empire Magazine, we have a brand new batch of awesome content from the highly anticipated follow-up.

First up are a couple of covers featuring the entire team assembled (including new additions Nebula, Yondu, and Mantis) and the always ridiculously adorable Baby Groot. Then, we have a fresh back of stills from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, one of which offers up a look at Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet, Peter Quill/Star-Lord’s father.

As well as appearing in his human form, Ego will actually be a literal living planet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, something director James Gunn was quick to point out meant a whole lot of visual effects. “We have over a trillion polygons on Ego’s planet. It’s the biggest visual effect of all time. There’s nothing even close to it. Which is cool.”

With any luck, Marvel will keep that under wraps until the movie is released as it’s definitely one of those reveals which would work best being seen for the first time on the big screen. Of course, there are now just weeks left until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 reaches the UK, so expect more to be revealed here on HeyUGuys very, very soon…
