We are a few months out from returning to the world of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy with Vol. 2 of Marvel’s most entertaining series. Today we have a sneak peek of what’s to come with some new images from the movie, showing our team in one peril or another. There’s also a nice little behind the scenes moment between the director and his lead actor.

Chris Pratt is back as Peter Quill (or Star-Lord if you’ll humour him for a moment), Zoe Saldana also returns as green-skinned assassin Gamora along with Bond henchman Dave Bautista as the literal-minded Drax. The team is completed with Bradley Cooper returning as the furry smart arse Rocket and Vin Diesel as Baby Groot. Michael Rooker is also back, and features prominently in one of these images, as Yondu Udonta. How he’ll play into the team’s antics this time around is unclear – the previous film ended on a moment of discovery for Yondu, and a smile that suggest he’ll be seeing Peter Quill again.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is released in the UK on the 28th of April and in the US on the 5th of May. Here are the new images.
