Guardians of the Galaxy was a movie packed full of memorable moments, and now Marvel have cleverly decided to officially release one which many fans have called the best by far.

That’s right, it’s the dancing baby Groot from the movie’s mid-credits scene, and writer/director James Gunn revealed in a recent interview that, “It was initially written as a tag for the very end of the film, but after we shot it, it worked so well I wanted to put it at the actual end of the film so none of the audience would miss it.”

A smart decision, especially as many moviegoers still leave the cinema before the credits finish (something they should really know better than to do by now based on Marvel’s past efforts).

While Vin Diesel voiced Groot throughout the rest of Guardians of the Galaxy, it was in fact Gunn who provided the dance moves for this later version of the character! “Baby Groot dancing is 100 percent me. I was too embarrassed for anyone to be there, so I made everyone leave the room and I set up a camera and I videotaped myself dancing. Then I sent the video to the animators and had them animate over that.”

Guardians of the Galaxy is still in cinemas, and the movie stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, and Josh Brolin.
