Groot Vin

Three more character posters have been released for Marvel Studios and James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, this time giving us a new look at both Zoe Saldana’s Gamora and the sure to be fan favourite CGI creations Groot (Vin Diesel) and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper).

Also below is a shadowy first look at The Walking Dead star Michael Rooker (and James Gunn movie regular) Michael Rooker as Yondu, a character from the Guardians of the Galaxy comic books who will apparently be an ally to Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord in the final Marvel movie of 2014.

In a post on his Facebook page, Gunn revealed how he managed to get the actor a role in the movie. “Yondu was not in the original script. I added him and wrote the role specifically for Rooker,” he said. “I wasn’t sure Marvel was going to go for either idea, so I was relieved when they responded enthusiastically to both.”

Another actor who was recently revealed as having a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy is Nathan Fillion. He’s appeared in each of James Gunn’s movies, and the director recently debunked reports that he’ll be playing a well-known character like Cosmo or Nova.

Instead, he says that Fillion’s role is so small that the actor could be brought back in a larger capacity somewhere down the line, “if either Joss [Whedon] or I or whoever chose to do that in the future. Which I would love to do.” Apparently scheduling issues prevented that this time around.
