Jay and Mark Duplass have been riding high upon the waves from the praise of their last few films, with Baghead, Cyrus, and most recently Jeff, Who Lives At Home brilliantly received by critics and audiences alike.

The brothers have carved out a great niche in the indie market, and now the first trailer for their next film, The Do-Deca-Pentathlon, has debuted over at Apple.

“From Jay and Mark Duplass, the writer/directors of the Sundance hits “The Puffy Chair,” “Cyrus” and the upcoming “Jeff Who Lives at Home” comes “The Do-Deca-Pentathlon,” the story of two grown brothers who secretly compete in a homemade Olympics during a family reunion. When their fierce and disruptive competition is uncovered, the brothers must choose between their passion for beating the hell out of each other and the greater good of the family.”

The film got terrific reviews coming out of SXSW earlier this year, and is set for a US release this summer.

Co-written and -directed by the Duplass brothers, the film stars Mark Kelly and Steve Zissis as the competitive brothers, and this first look at the film definitely makes a good impression.

Mark Duplass also stars in one of the summer’s most anticipated comedies, Safety Not Guaranteed, and if you’re yet to see anything from that film, you can catch up on all the awesome things we’ve seen from that right here. Enjoy.

The Do-Deca-Pentathlon will be released in the US on 6th July, and if you’d like to watch this first trailer in HD, you can head over to Apple here. No word yet on when we can expect here in the UK, but for the time being, you can catch the Duplass brothers’ latest film, Jeff, Who Lives At Home, starring Jason Segel and Ed Helms, in a cinema near you right now.
