It’s less of a surprise now than it would have been before Nolan was named as the ‘Godfather’ of the new Superman project, but Latino Review are reporting today that David Goyer is to write the new Superman movie.

The title will apparently be The Man of Steel, the movie will not include an origin story, and Brandon Routh and Bryan Singer WILL NOT be involved. You can find Latino Review’s story here.

This is obviously good news for the new Superman reboot. David S. Goyer helped come up with the stories for Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and is apparently also busy helping with the story for the third film in the series. His working history with Nolan, and his eye for comic book detail hopefully mean we can once again be offered a Superman story to be proud of. With the right director and lead actor, this could rival Batman 3 in the anticipation stakes.
