ITV has unveiled a striking set of first-look images from its upcoming six-part psychological drama ‘Gone,’ offering an early glimpse into a tense mystery led by Eve Myles and David Morrissey. Set to premiere this spring on ITV and STV, the series promises a slow-burn battle of wits where secrets crack, facades splinter, and the truth refuses to stay buried.
The newly released images hint at a world of quiet menace and carefully controlled chaos. At the centre stands David Morrissey as Michael Polly, a respected local headmaster whose orderly life begins to unravel when his wife Sarah vanishes without a trace. Calm, inscrutable and meticulously composed, Michael quickly finds himself under the microscope as the prime suspect in her disappearance.
Opposite him is Eve Myles as Detective Annie Cassidy, a razor-sharp investigator whose intelligence and tenacity turn the case into something far more personal. The images tease an intense psychological duel as Annie methodically chips away at Michael’s polished exterior, igniting a compulsive game of cat and mouse that suggests nothing and no one is quite what they seem.

Created and written by acclaimed screenwriter George Kay, whose recent credits include ‘The Long Shadow,’ ‘Hijack’ and ‘Lupin,’ ‘Gone’ delves beyond procedural mystery. Beneath the surface lies a probing examination of trauma, trust and the long shadows cast by elite institutions. The series is directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Richard Laxton, known for ‘Mrs Wilson,’ ‘Burton’ and ‘Taylor and The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe.’
The supporting cast rounds out the unsettling world of ‘Gone’ with performances from Jennifer Macbeth, Arthur Hughes, Nicholas Nunn, Elliot Cowan, Billy Barratt, Rupert Evans, Jodie McNee, Oscar Batterham and Clare Higgins.
Produced by Mark Hedges (Hanna, The Rising), the drama boasts a strong creative team behind the scenes. Executive producers include George Kay, Richard Laxton, Willow Grylls (Des, The Missing) and Matt Sandford (The Long Shadow). While Gone is a fictional series, it is partly inspired by the book To Hunt a Killer and the real-life work of former Detective Superintendent Julie Mackay and ITV Crime Correspondent Robert Murphy. Both serve as consultants.
