Gerard Butler is set to step back into the action-man shoes as Millenium Films have announced a third film in the “Fallen” series set to be called “Angel Has Fallen”.
Deadline reports that the three-quel, which follows 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen and this year’s London Has Fallen, will see Butler return as Secret Service agent Mike Banning who after protecting others in the previous films will be the target this time out. However, the bad guys will also be after the President once more and his Air Force One plane which is code-named Angel.
Writers Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt, who created the series, are writing the script for the film although no director has been found just yet. Previously, the films have grossed almost $370million at the worldwide box office.
No word on whether any of the previous cast members, namely Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman, will return. Production is set to begin early next year.
