As the hordes of Game of Thrones fans continue to get hype in anticipation of the sixth book in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, and the fifth series of HBO’s incredibly successful TV adaptation, IMAX screenings of final two episodes from season four are currently playing in the US.
While this adds to the continuing convergence of TV and cinema outings what many of the fans at the screenings were waiting for was the debut of the full trailer for Season Five.
The two minute promo can be seen below, not in the best quality admittedly, and shows the fate of show’s most enduring characters. A fully-bearded Tyrion and Varys arrive on foreign shores, Arya arrives and the House of Black and White, Jon Snow kicks up some of his namesake to do battle and there are some new faces…
When the trailer is launched in glorious HD we’ll let you know, but in the meantime here’s the first glimpse of what’s to come… That last shot is something very special indeed.
Season Five of Game of Thrones will arrive in the US on the 12th of April, and on the 13th here in the UK.
