Cinema has inspired some great work from around the world and there’s nothing quite like seeing a new take on a favourite film

For a special design project Turkish artist Murat Palta took some of the most famous films from the past forty years and has created a unique vision of some classic movies and there’s something special about the illustrations on offer here – the Tarantino inspired prints are great fun, as is the depiction of Tom Skerrit and Yaphet Kotto in Alien.

It all started 2 years ago with an experiment to blend traditional ‘oriental’ (Ottoman) motifs and contemporary ‘western’ cinema. After a positive response to “Ottoman Star Wars”, I decided to take the theme further, and developed more film posters using the same technique.
