Frozen was nothing short of a phenomenon when released in 2013, and now a few years on comes the eagerly anticipated sequel – and to mark the occasion we sat down with two of the film’s leading vocal stars Josh Gad (Olaf) and Jonathan Groff (Kristoff), as well as co-directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee – the latter also works at Disney as Chief Creative Officer of the animation studios.

With Gad and Groff naturally the conversation turned to Olaf, talking about the much-loved snowman and the former’s inclination to improvise when in the booth. They also tell us whether they think Olaf would be a fan of David Fincher’s Mindhunter, and what it was that lured them back in to make this sequel.

With Lee and Buck we discuss the film’s tricky tone, ensuring that it gives audiences what they want and yet ensure there’s something new and original about the feature too. We also ask them if they’ve decided yet on what will be the song they put forward for the Oscars next year…
