friendsSo, it would seem that nothing is sacred anymore and it’s all about the money. Friends finished on our TV screens with the camera panning into the front door picture frame that we all grew to love on the 6th May 2004. Ross and Rachel were together, Pheobe got married to Paul Rudd, Monica and Chandler had twins and they all lived happily ever after….. but there is more!

The final episode was entitled: ‘The Last One: Part 2’ but the name would now seem ironic as The Daily Mail have published news that a ‘Friends movie’ is in the works and that all 6 actors have signed on the dotted line to produce a movie version of the show.

It means Jennifer Aniston, 40, Courteney Cox, 45, Lisa Kudrow, 46, Matt LeBlanc, 42, Matthew Perry, 40, and David Schwimmer, 42, will be back on the same set for the first time since the show ended in 2004.

The Mail compares this news with that of the Sex and the City movie which is currently filming the sequel after making $408m at the box office. But will the new Friends movie do so well? I’m not sure it will. Much like The Simpsons Movie, the format for the 25 minute episode is far different from a 90+ minute translation to the big screen. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. The movie, is slated for release at some point in 2011. We’ll keep you posted on this one.
