You’d think that the makers of The Hangover 2 would realise that they don’t necessarily have to drum up a load of pre-publicity to entice the same audience who shelled out 7,483,912 (world-wide) to see the first film, back to the cinema for its sequel.

Following on from the news that Mel Gibson’s intended cameo had been vetoed by members of the production (only to be replaced by Liam Neeson), another gentleman with a similarly unblemished history, former US President Bill Clinton has joined the gang.

According to The People, Clinton is playing himself in the comedy, and he shot his brief appearance on Saturday in Bangkok city, the setting for the sequel and also a place where the former President is due to deliver a speech on clean energy.

Directed by Todd Philips, original cast members Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha are also back onboard.

No word yet if a dress or cigar are being used as props.
