Premiering at SXSW earlier this year, In Our Nature sees writer-director Brian Savelson making his feature debut, and he’s assembled a fine cast for the occasion.
The film centres around four people – Jena Malone (Donnie Darko), John Slattery (Mad Men), Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), and Gabrielle Union (Think Like A Man) – and after catching what was described as a trailer back in March, but was really more of a first clip, we’ve now got the first theatrical trailer, courtesy of Yahoo Movies, along with the first poster.
“A portrait of two couples at a crossroads. What was supposed to be a romantic getaway for two young lovers, turns into an uncomfortable confrontation when the young man’s estranged father shows up … with his own girlfriend. As their collisions mount, the weekend transforms into a major turning point for each of them.”
The movie has been earning good early reviews on the festival circuit, and will now be arriving for its theatrical release in the US next month. And with a cast as promising as the leading quartet, it looks like a solid drama as we head towards the end of the year.
In Our Nature will be released in the US on 7th December. No word yet on if it will be coming to our shores in the UK, but here’s to hoping that we’ll at least see the indie arrive on DVD/Blu-ray sometime in the New Year, because this is one I’d really like to see.
