A trailer has been released for The Casual Vacancy, BBC One’s adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s first adult novel following the conclusion of the Harry Potter series. It’s obviously a lot different to that magical world, but don’t fret too much about that as we’ll be revisiting it in 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

For now though, this three part series will be providing us with our Rowling fix. It stars Rory Kinnear, Simon McBurney, and Michael Gambon, and was directed by Jonny Campbell from a script by Sarah Phelps.

Campbell’s varied TV career includes everything from Shamless to Doctor Who and In The Flesh. Phelps’ writing credits meanwhile are equally impressive thanks to the likes of Being Human and The Crimson Field.

The Causal Vacancy focuses on the small town Pagford, but the idyllic village isn’t all that it seems. An empty seat left on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen, leaving us to wonder who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and revelations!

The series will premiere in the UK on February 15th and is set to follow in the US on HBO shortly after.
