Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters) returns behind the camera for Deadfall, a heist crime-thriller starring Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, and Charlie Hunnam in the leads.

Due out at the end of the year, the film debuted at Tribeca to slightly mixed reviews, but all seemed to praise the performances of the cast, which also co-stars Kate Mara, Kris Kristofferson, and Sissy Spacek.

The film’s official website has debuted the first poster, banner, and batch of images, and hopefully we’ll have a trailer for you soon.

“Siblings Addison (Eric Bana) and Liza (Olivia Wilde) are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances – a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). It’s there the siblings are reunited in a terse and thrilling showdown that pushes the bonds of family to the limit.”

Ruzowitzky’s The Counterfeiters won the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars, which is reason enough to look forward to Deadfall, let alone having Bana and Wilde in the leads.

Deadfall will be released in the US through VoD on 2nd November before a 7th December release in theatres. No word yet on when we’ll be getting it in the UK, but StudioCanal have acquired our distribution rights, so we should be seeing it later this year too.
