Ken-Jeong-in-The-Hangover-Part-IIIThe Hangover Part III is set to bring an end to one of the most memorable and successful film series in recent years next spring, and it’s going to be doing so in style.

The plot is expected to take an entirely new direction, and with a highly prominent release date next May, things are looking good.

We’ve got just over five more months before it hits the big screen, and now EW have debuted the first official images from one of the most anticipated comedies of 2013.

As of yet, there’s still no official synopsis, but along with the images comes an excellent little quote from Todd Phillips:

“”The Hangover Part III is Alan’s story,” says director Todd Phillips of Zach Galifianakis’ character. ”He’s going through a crisis after the death of his father, [and] the Wolfpack is all he has.””

Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, and Justin Bartha will be back for one final outing as the Wolfpack, and starring alongside them will be a brilliant supporting cast, headed up by Ken Jeong, John Goodman, Heather Graham, Jamie Chung, Jeffrey Tambor, and Mike Epps.

Phillips is directing from a script he co-wrote with Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II), with the director producing alongside frequent collaborator Daniel Goldberg (Due Date, The Hangover).

The Hangover Part III will be hitting theatres on 24th May, 2013, both in the UK and US, and that is a release date to commit to memory. May 2013 is quite possibly the greatest month in cinema we’ve had to look forward to in a long time, and this final film in the series is a strong part of that. For now, here are the great first look images. Enjoy.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
