Netflix has released the first look at ‘Goodbye June,’ a moving and darkly funny drama directed by Academy Award® winner Kate Winslet, arriving just in time for the festive season.

The family ensemble is led by an extraordinary cast including Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, Kate Winslet herself, and Helen Mirren. Joining them are newly announced cast members Stephen Merchant, Fisayo Akinade, Jeremy Swift, and Raza Jaffrey, rounding out one of the most impressive British casts of the year.

Set against the backdrop of Christmas, the film follows four adult siblings who are thrown back together when their mother’s health takes a sudden turn. What begins as a fraught reunion quickly spirals into chaos as they grapple with messy family dynamics and a father who is more exasperating than helpful. But at the centre of it all is June — quick-witted, sharp-tongued, and unflinchingly honest — who insists on orchestrating her own decline on her own terms. With biting humour, blunt honesty, and unwavering love, June’s final act becomes a rallying point for a fractured family forced to face themselves and each other.

The newly unveiled images Winslet’s lens captures both the intimacy and volatility of a family on the brink, while also teasing moments of tenderness that cut through the dysfunction.

With its powerhouse cast, emotionally rich story, and Winslet stepping confidently behind the camera, ‘Goodbye June’ looks set to be one of Netflix’s most talked-about dramas of the holiday season.

‘Goodbye June’ will be released in select UK cinemas on December 12, before streaming globally on Netflix from Wednesday, December 24.
