One of the most popular TV programmes currently on the air, Glee will return for its fourth season next month, and bring with it the usual host of excellent special guests, with Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker signing on for a handful of episodes each.

The first episode, entitled The New Rachel, will see Hudson starring alongside Rachel (Lea Michele) as a dance instructor, Cassandra July, at Rachel’s new school, NYADA, and now the first two images of Hudson have surfaced online.

No word on what song she’s dancing to, but we do know that the first group number of the new season will be a cover of Adele’s Chasing Pavements, and that Carly Rae Jepson’s monumentally popular song, Call Me Maybe, will be performed by the New Directions in the season premiere, too.

The Oscar-nominated Hudson (Always Famous) has had a terrifically diverse career over the years, starring in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous (earning her an Oscar nomination), alongside Daniel Day-Lewis and the all-star female cast of Nine, and alongside Casey Affleck and Jessica Alba in The Killer Inside Me.

She’ll next be seen on the big screen in The Reluctant Fundamentalist, alongside Riz Ahmed, Kiefer Sutherland, and Liev Schreiber, which is heading to the Toronto International Film Festival next month, and is part of the brilliant voice cast for DreamWorks’ highly anticipated 2014 film, Me and My Shadow.

Glee Season 4 will be premiering on Fox in the US on 13th September, and will be airing in the UK on Sky this autumn. No word on when exactly it will hit our screens here, but no doubt Sky will want to keep it pretty close to the US dates, so hopefully look out for it next month, too. For now, enjoy these first look images of the brilliant Hudson getting her groove on, and as usual, you can click to enlarge.
