Juno-Temple-and-Kathryn-Hahn-in-Afternoon-DelightAfternoon Delight sees three-time Emmy-nominated writer-producer, Jill Solloway (Six Feet Under, United States of Tara), making her feature debut behind the camera.

The film was announced last night in the Sundance 2013 line-up, and will be making its world premiere at the festival in the US Dramatic Competition category.

Kathryn Hahn (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) and Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises) star in the leads, and now the first image of the pair has debuted online.

“In this sexy, dark comedy, a lost L.A. housewife puts her idyllic hipster life in jeopardy when she tries to rescue a stripper by taking her in as a live-in nanny.”

Starring alongside Hahn and Temple will be an excellent supporting cast, headed up by the great Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother), Jane Lynch (Glee), Keegan Michael Key (MADtv), and Suzy Nakamura (Go On).

The premise sounds like it should make for a great film, perfect for landing its debut at Sundance, and with a cast led by the likes of Hahn, Temple, Radnor, and Lynch, it’s very much one to look forward to in January.

Having worked for years as a writer and producer on the likes of Six Feet Under, United States of Tara, and How to Make It in America, it’s excellent to see Solloway stepping behind the camera. She’s made two short films in the past two years, and has collaborated on the upcoming drama/comedy Valencia, and makes her debut as a solo feature writer-director here, directing from her own script..

Afternoon Delight will be premiering at Sundance in January, and here’s to hoping it lives up to its expectations and then some. For now, here’s the first image of Hahn and Temple, which  you can click through to enlarge.
