Apple TV has revealed the first-look image and confirmed the premiere date for its upcoming 10-episode series ‘Widow’s Bay,’ a genre-blending tale that mixes creeping horror with sharp, character-driven comedy. The series will make its global debut on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, launching with the first three episodes, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday through June 17, 2026, exclusively on Apple TV.
Led by Emmy Award winner Matthew Rhys, who also serves as executive producer, ‘Widow’s Bay’ hails from creator Katie Dippold and is directed and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Hiro Murai through his banner Chum Films.
Set on a remote island town located 40 miles off the coast of New England, ‘Widow’s Bay’ introduces viewers to a place that appears quaint, quiet, and picturesque. Beneath that calm surface, however, something far more unsettling is at work. Rhys stars as Mayor Tom Loftis, a well-meaning but visibly outmatched leader desperate to revive his struggling community. The island has no Wi-Fi, barely any cellular reception, and a population of deeply superstitious locals who believe their home is cursed.
They do not respect Loftis. They think he is soft. They think he is a coward. And, inconveniently, they are not entirely wrong.

Determined to prove them all wrong and secure a better future for his teenage son, Loftis pushes forward with a plan to transform the island into a tourist destination. Against all odds, it works. Visitors arrive. Money flows. The town stirs back to life. Unfortunately, the locals were right all along.
After decades of eerie calm, the island’s long-dismissed legends begin to resurface. Stories once laughed off as absurd slowly become impossible to ignore, as strange and terrifying events creep back into daily life. What follows is a collision of civic ambition, ancient dread, and small-town absurdity, as Loftis finds himself battling forces far older and far less forgiving than a sceptical town council.
Alongside Rhys, the series features an ensemble cast including Kate O’Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, and Dale Dickey.
