Alan Rickman stars as Hilly Krystal, the owner and founder of the legendary titular NYC club, with a fantastic cast headed up by Malin Åkerman, Ashley Greene, Johnny Galecki, Justin Bartha, Rupert Grint, Joel David Moore, and the great Bradley Whitford, and now we’ve got our first look at Katic as musician/producer Genya Ravan, courtesy of EW.
“Sporting a voluminous late-’70s hairdo, edgy makeup, a “badass” attitude, and no bra, Castle’s Stana Katic says she was excited to channel her inner punk rocker for her role as musician-producer Genya Ravan in CBGB, a movie (out next year) about the legendary New York City club of the same name. (Alan Rickman stars as club owner Hilly Kristal.) The gritty role was a welcome departure from Det. Kate Beckett, Katic says. “[Genya] doesn’t care about laws. She doesn’t care about anything but rock & roll.””
Miller directs from a script he co-wrote with frequent collaborator Jody Savin, and the film is currently in post-production.
No word yet on when we can expect CBGB to hit the big screen, but with the film now wrapped, Sundance would be an awesome place for it to make its debut next year. For now, enjoy this first look at Katic, and as usual, you can click to enlarge.
