The Playlist, via the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, have got their hands on the first image from Paul Weig’s Bridesmaids, a comedy centered on two women battling to plan their friend’s wedding party.

Bridesmaids was co-written by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo and has an outstanding cast including Kristen Wiig, Rose Byrne, Dianne West, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, Ellie Kemper, Chris O’Dowd, Melissa McCarthy, Matthew Lucas and Wendy McLendon-Covey.

While the plot may sound a little like the diabolical Bride Wars, Kristen Wiig has made sure that Bridesmaids is more about female camaraderie than the wedding itself.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Kristen Wiig said, “There’s a weird pressure in society, and in a lot of these kinds of movies, that says you need to be married. We were careful about avoiding that.”

Bridesmaids will be released in 2011.
