20th Century Studios has unveiled the first images from ‘Couture,’ the upcoming drama written and directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Alice Winocour (Proxima, Disorder). Set against the electric backdrop of Paris Fashion Week, the film brings together an ensemble cast led by Angelina Jolie, Ella Rumpf, Anyier Anei, and Louis Garrel.

In the movie, the glitz of the catwalk masks a world of private battles and fleeting alliances. Maxine (Jolie), a filmmaker in her forties, finds her life suddenly upended after a breast cancer diagnosis. Amid the chaos of the fashion world, she reconnects with a familiar collaborator (Garrel) in ways neither expects.

Meanwhile, Ada (Anei), a rising model from South Sudan, navigates the industry while escaping a predetermined future back home. Angèle (Rumpf), a makeup artist whose work is seen but rarely acknowledged, threads her way through the shadows of backstage life, quietly holding the seams of the spectacle together.

As their paths converge, ‘Couture’ becomes a deeply human portrait of resilience, exploring the unspoken solidarity that emerges between women across professions, cultures, and continents — even in the most high-pressure, image-driven environments.

The first look images offer a glimpse of Winocour’s signature intimate lens: Jolie in moments of quiet reflection between bustling show preparations; Anei’s Ada balancing vulnerability and confidence in a fitting room; and Rumpf’s Angèle at work, her artistry hidden behind the curtain while all eyes are on the runway.

With its mix of glamour and emotional depth, ‘Couture’ promises to be a textured, deeply felt story about finding connection when the lights are brightest and the stakes are highest.
