Here’s the first look images from I Am Soldier which has now wrapped production. The script comes from Ronnie Thompson who also directs the movie which is set for release Autumn 2013. Thompson has previously worked on Screwed which also starred Noel Clarke alongside James D’Arcy.
As well as Clarke, I Am Soldier stars Tom Hughes, Alex Reid (The Descent) and a wealth of emerging British talent in George Russo, Josh Myers, Dave Goodman, Ian Pirie and Jordan Long. I Am Soldier follows Mickey (Tom Hughes) as he takes on the most dangerous military training known to man: SAS selection. The Special Air Service (SAS) is the United Kingdom’s most renowned Special Forces regiment, tasked with missions in some of the most dangerous places on the planet.
Mickey is smashed by the selection process, not only physically but mentally and emotionally, from torturous tabs over the steepest mountains, running for his life on ‘Escape and Evasion’ missions and enduring the most horrific interrogation imaginable.
But the only way you can really prove yourself is in combat. When the Counter Terrorism Squadron take charge of a deadly situation, Mickey advances into conflict to see if he really does have what it takes to be a special forces operative. Many try to get into the SAS. Only the elite make it…
