Earlier today, we got a first look at Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander in upcoming Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (if you missed that, click right here).
Pictured on the gallery of Fantastic Beasts images below are obviously Redmayne as Newt, but also Katherine Waterston as Porpentina “Tina” Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, and Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski. These images were taken in Leavesden.
They offer up a very interesting look at the movie, and the setting and time period make it instantly apparent that Fantastic Beasts is going to be very different to what we got with Harry Potter. However, there’s something about these which feel very Potter-esque, right? Of course, David Yates directing and J.K. Rowling penning the screenplay is probably why!
The story centres on Newt’s adventures in the secret community of witches and wizards as he attempts to document magical creatures. Don’t expect a cameo from a certain someone either, as the events of Fantastic Beasts take place 70 years before the Harry Potter movies.
The incredible cast of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them also includes Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight, and Colin Farrell. Directed by David Yates from a script by J.K. Rowling, it’s set to be released on November 18th, 2016.
