Robert Schwentke’s RED was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2010, with an all-star cast headed up by Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, and Karl Urban.
Having done so well first time around, only gaining popularity in the years since, the sequel is something we’ve all been looking forward to, and after a bit of a grainy first teaser poster surfaced at Cannes a few months back, we’ve now got a hi-res version to enjoy.
The plot is currently being kept under wraps, but this great teaser shows that Willis, Parker, Malkovich, and Mirren will be back for more, with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Lee Byung-hun boarding to complete the sequel’s leading line-up.
With Schwentke busy on his next project, R.I.P.D. (one of my most anticipated films of 2013), Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Fun with Dick and Jane) is behind the camera, with brother Erich and Jon Hoeber returning to pen the script.
RED 2 is already set for release on 2nd August, 2013 in the UK and US, and is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters we have to look forward to next summer. For now, enjoy this excellent teaser poster, and as usual, you can click to enlarge.
