As part of their E3 presentation today, Ubisoft unveiled a brand new featurette for Assassin’s Creed, the upcoming video game adaptation which pretty much everyone is hoping and praying will mark a turning point for the genre after the mixed reaction to Warcraft.
As well as some great behind the scenes footage, there are other cool snippets from the movie which thankfully aren’t set to Kanye West like in the recently released teaser trailer.

Assassin’s Creed is set to focus on Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) after he discovers that he’s a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day, and we get a taste of both of those worlds in the video below.
The movie will be set in the same world as the game, but just how closely tied to them it will be remains to be seen. Assassin’s Creed also stars Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Ariane Labed, and is currently set to be released on December 21st, 2016.
