Despite the fact that the idea of a “companion series” was initially met with a fair bit of scepticism, Fear The Walking Dead ended up being a hit last year. It was renewed for a second season before even airing, and now the first teaser trailer has been released.

While it mostly recycles footage from season one, we also get a glimpse of the water, a clear indication that the survivors are going to try and find refuge away from land. However, the sight of a plane ties the teaser into the “Flight 462” web series, so things are clearly going to be getting complicated for this group. Of course, that’s when a show like this is at its best!

It was also revealed this week that Dougray Scott (Taken 3) has been added to the cast alongside relative unknown Veronica Diaz. Details on who they’re playing in Fear The Walking Dead is obviously scarce, but the latter is described as smart and deceptive, with a look of innocence, and someone who throws herself into her work with reckless abandon.

It’s thought that he could be playing Casey, a character described in a recent casting breakdown as “a decent man who believes in civility” who “is confident in an unexpected position of authority.” Loyal to his family, Casey “is still learning to be a leader. He regrets but accepts the necessary violence for a new vision.” Is sounds like he’s a good guy then!

Fear The Walking Dead fifteen episode second season will be split into two, with the first half launching Sunday, April 10th and the second half currently scheduled for “later in 2016.”
