So far, the brief TV spots for Captain America: The Winter Soldier have focused mainly on action. While this one (released today) certainly delivers when it comes to showing off plenty of incredible fight sequences and gigantic Helicarriers falling from the sky, it also concentrates on the characters and story.
We see more of what could possibly be the mysterious council who first made their presence known in Avengers Assemble as being behind S.H.I.E.L.D., along with plenty of new shots of The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers – aka Captain America – living quietly in Washington, DC, and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy – the Winter Soldier.
Starring Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Frank Grillo, Felicity Jones, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Samuel L. Jackson, and Robert Redford, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D in the UK on 26th March and in the US on April 4th.
