To celebrate the release of new Netflix feature film Outlaw King – which chronicles the legendary warrior Robert the Bruce, we had the pleasure of sitting down with the leading castmembers Chris Pine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Billy Howle and Tony Curran – as well as director David Mackenzie – to discuss this historical epic.

We spoke about the challenges in riding horses and wielding a sword at the same time (not an easy skill), why making this film tapped into childlike qualities of the cast, and the importance in telling such a rich film steeped in Scottish folklore and history. Director Mackenzie also explains why he cut a lengthy chunk out of the film which initially premiered at Toronto, and we get on to the subject of, well, the subject of Chris Pine’s now infamous nude scene.
