EntourageThis week’s news that Warner Bros. have given the green light to the Entourage movie is one of the best pieces of news I’ve heard in a long time.

When word officially came out, we heard that deals had started to be made with the leading cast, including Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven.

We know that Doug Ellin, the series creator, will be directing from his own script, and executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson are set to return to their producing roles.

When the news first surfaced, there was no mention of a possible schedule for when things might be happening.

But now MTV have been speaking to Mark Wahlberg, and he’s given us a few more details, with some awesome potential dates.

“Well, hopefully [we’ll shoot in] spring. Spring or summer. May, June, depending on scheduling. But hopefully as soon as possible. And then release, I mean, either a summer movie or a fall movie, depending. But I like the summer. I like April, May [next year].”

April or May next year would be absolutely brilliant.

We currently have Captain America: The Winter Soldier to look forward to in April next year. And given that May is populated by The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla, the Ninja Turtles movie, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, I think April is probably the more likely option, unless Warner Bros. want to push it to August / September.

June and July currently have Jurassic Park 4, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Transformers 4, Maleficent, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, and X-Men: Days of Future Past pencilled in. And the studio will probably want to avoid going up against them.

August has Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Paramount’s Hercules films scheduled, so I think I’m personally rooting for either April or August. And ideally April, because the sooner the better.

Like most, I’ve really missed Entourage since it came to a close with a brilliant eighth season. And naturally, I’ve been wanting more from the boys, and can’t wait to see this movie.

Wahlberg kept quiet in the interview about plot details, unsure of how much he’s allowed to give away yet. So no news on that front. But knowing that it should be coming together very soon is awesome to hear.

With any luck, we’ll have the Entourage movie in theatres late spring/early summer 2014. More as we get it.
