A brilliant new clip centring on the ever-beloved King Julien, Maurice, and Mort has debuted over at Yahoo Movies, giving a taste of the film before its US release on Friday.
Co-directed by original directors from the first two films, Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath, and joined by Conrad Vernon (Monsters vs. Aliens), Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted sees the return of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Cedric the Entertainer, Andy Richter, and of course Sacha Baron Cohen voicing the beloved King Julien, with Bryan Cranston and Jessica Chastain topping the newcomers.
“Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple and of course, King Julien, Maurice and the Penguins are all along for the comedic adventure. Their journey takes them through Europe where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent – Madagascar style.”
Darnell penned the script, with the eternally brilliant Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale) doing the re-write. The second film outperformed the original commercially and largely critically, and it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine the same thing happening third time around.
Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted will be released in the US this Friday, 8th June. For reasons beyond reckoning, we here in the UK have to wait until 19th October to see it on the big screen – at the very least, it looks like it will be worth the wait. Here’s the great new clip of Baron Cohen voicing King Julien XIII to tie you over. Enjoy.
